- The Consumer Council for Water, the water industry consumer watchdog for England and Wales, has urged water companies to 'get back on track' and give customers what they have paid for as it emerged in a report on financial performance and expenditure by the sector's economic regulator, Ofwat, that the companies spent nearly £1 billion less last financial year than they were supposed to.
