Box 1088, Austin, TX 78767 ABSTRACT Austin implemented the first elements of its water efficiency program in 1983 and has continued to add additional elements to its program up to the current time. Each added element has been aimed at correcting a particular type of inefficient water use. This paper examines the evolution of the programs that have been implemented in Austin and the impact that these programs have achieved.
