- The US EPA along with six other US water and wastewater utility organisations, has announced a statement of intent to promote effective long-term utility management. The formal partnership will focus on improved water and wastewater utility performance through education, management tools and performance measures.
- Report on capital spending puts global water needs at $2.3 trillion
- A new PFI report from Thomson Financial, 'Financing water and wastewater to 2025: From necessity to sustainability', estimates total water and sewerage capital spending needs of $2.3 trillion, of which $1.77 trillion will need to be financed by private funds unless there is a dramatic change in utility tariff structures.
