Journal of Hydroinformatics is a peer-reviewed journal devoted to the application of information technology in the widest sense to problems of the aquatic environment. It promotes Hydroinformatics as a cross-disciplinary field of study, combining technological, human-sociological and more general environmental interests, including an ethical perspective.

Types of Contributions:
Technical papers, practice papers, technical notes and discussions. Technical papers and practice papers are full-length, original contributions that must have fewer than 10,000 words, or word equivalents. Technical notes, i.e., short articles presenting preliminary or partial results of research, concisely presented research results, or innovative hydroinformatics techniques, will invite papers that are no longer than 5,000 words. Discussions, i.e., a submission presenting significant comments or questions about the published work in the Journal, can be submitted after discussion with the Editor-in-Chief.

Rapid evaluation process:
The Journal of Hydroinformatics has a target review time of 20 weeks (from receipt to final decision), and a target total publication time of one year (from receipt to final publication).
