IWA Publishing Open

IWA Publishing Open is a new service which gives authors the option of having their accepted paper made freely available online immediately on publication.

All authors whose papers are accepted for publication in an IWA Publishing journal will have the opportunity to make their paper free-to-view via IWAPonline for a one-off standard fee of £1,700 / US$3,400 / €2,550.

All papers will be peer reviewed at no cost in the usual way. Upon acceptance, authors will be offered IWA Publishing Open as a publishing option. Authors who do not wish to follow this route will see their papers published online and available to subscribers as normal.

Authors participating in IWA Publishing Open will be able to disseminate their articles under the Creative Commons license version 3.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/), provided the work is cited appropriately, including the URL of their published article, in addition to the full text.

Colour charges will still apply for the print version of the paper. Colour figures appear online at no cost to the author.

A paper is submitted for peer review via IWA Publishing’s Online Submission and Peer Review System.
The paper is peer reviewed, free of charge.
The paper is accepted for publication; authors are offered the option of publishing online using IWA Publishing Open, with the result that the paper will be free to view by anyone, not only journal subscribers.
The author chooses IWA Publishing Open and an invoice for £1,700 / US$3,400 / €2,550 is sent to them, their institution, or their funding body.
The paper is published online within a regular journal issue and clearly marked as being free to view.
